The EVFS system is a specialised firefighting device for electric vehicles. It features three water mist nozzles and extension pipes. The EVFS directs water onto the battery pack beneath the electric vehicle, aiding in cooling the battery and containing fires. The main nozzle, standing at 79.5mm tall, has a wide spray angle, ensuring effective water and mist coverage under any electric vehicle model.
The extension pipe can be quickly placed under the car chassis and extends up to 2.8 meters to keep the operator at a safe distance from the fire. It includes two additional nozzles that spray water mist, providing extra coverage to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles and protecting rescuers from heat and flames.
As per the Emergency Response Guides from EV manufacturers and NFPA guidelines, firefighters need to apply large amounts of water directly to the battery to halt thermal runaway and extinguish the fire.
